Macy's Story

  Macy was already late for school and was struggling to tie her hair so she looked better and similar to the other girls of the school. She had never thought that dressing up every day and going to school would be such a toilsome task. She was sick and tired of her class mates for mocking at her every day for her weird dressing sense and hairstyle. Macy never wanted to leave her previous school and friends where everyone was of same social status and valued Macy for her nature and intellect more than her dressing, chunky glasses and appearance.
   Finally she tied her hair into a ponytail and came downstairs where her mother was preparing breakfast for her. “Macy” her mother shouted, “where are you heading to, without having breakfast and taking lunch?”  asked her mother.Macy left her home with angst, banging the door without replying to her mother’s question.

  After all it was her parents’ decision to put her into a better school so that she prospers in her career as Macy was a bright student and had topped in her previous school. The day she topped, she had no idea that her happiness would be short-lived because she would have to leave her school and friends in the offing.

Her first day in the new school and she excelled in a surprise test which made her come immediately under everybody’s cognizance. People started noticing her and making fun of her as she was not so beautifully dressed up like the other girls and looked poor and shabby.

 As soon as Macy entered the school gate she started walking briskly so that nobody paid attention to her as she wanted to avoid the students of her class.Suddenly somebody from that unscrupulous mob of her classmates shouted and drew everybody’s attention and pointed towards her...They started teasing Macy by calling her with crazy names and making fun of her hair, glasses and braces. Out of levity a boy pushed her and Macy was not able to maintain her balance and fell off.
  A crowd gathered around her, teasing her, laughing at her... Macy was all miffed up and started weeping.    Suddenly a boy jostled through the crowd and came up to help Macy.

  Macy was baffled to see him helping her….

  He emerged out of that crowd as someone truly divine just to protect Macy from that adverse situation.

Seeing him the rest of the students surged backward, trying to run away from there as they realized that he was “Sean”, there newly appointed basket ball coach and was very strict and unfriendly.
“Are you okay?” Sean asked Macy. Macy replied yes by nodding her head. Sean snarled at the crowd and all of them disappeared at once.
  Macy had bruised her knees so Sean took her to the medical room. Blood was oozing out from her wound; the nurse came and cleaned it...”Ouch” Macy screeched at the top of her voice as she was not able to bear the pain. She felt so hapless thinking about her old school and friends that she started crying. Tears rolled down her eyes and Sean noticed her weeping.

“You will be fine. Those spoilt brats are a real menace.” consoled Sean. Macy smirked and asked Sean “I suppose you have superseded Mr. Arnold and is our new basket ball coach”.
“Yes you are right and I guess you are Macy the new girl about whom whole staff is talking” said Sean.
Macy was amazed to hear that, she was still wondering that how come he knew her name, had teachers also started noticing her like the students of her class.
“Well I know what you are pondering, don’t be scared they aren’t talking anything ill about you. It’s just your scintillating results which have brought you in the eyes of all.” said Sean.
Macy was glad to hear that but still was gloomy because she had no friends to talk and share her feelings.
“How does that matter still my classmates don’t speak to me, they make fun of me, tease me and see what they have done to me today.” complained Macy.

Sean tried to cajole Macy and said” They are simply jealous of you because they can’t expedite their results and marks like you. They judge people by their appearance and are aloof from a person’s inner beauty. You are different Macy and you should never even think of making them your friends because they are not worth your friendship.”
“I have bandaged your wound.” interrupted the nurse.
“Thank you” Macy said with a smile.
“Lets leave I am feeling quite hungry. Aren’t you? Let’s go to the cafeteria and grab something” said
Sean.
  Next moment Sean and Macy were at the cafeteria entrance. As they entered, Macy looked around to find a seat but her eyes met that bunch of morons and she started feeling uncomfortable, thinking what is now going to transpire. ‘Would these people again comment on her and make her feel uneasy’. Sean noticed that and comforted Macy, took her with him to a seat far away from that mob.Macy looked at the menu card and gave her order. She had merely ordered something because she was feeling a bit coy as she had come to the cafeteria with the coach and everybody was looking at them.

 When the food arrived, Macy was shocked to see the quantity of food ordered by Sean. She felt like that much amount would have lasted her at least three to four days. She realized that Sean had a large appetite and commented saying “Are you sure you are alone going to eat all that?”
“Please don’t challenge my gulosity if you want to eat the food that you have ordered.” Said Sean and bursted out laughing.

 That brought a smile to Macy’s face and she couldn’t stop herself by laughing out loud.
Finally her smile was back. J
